The aura of power, and the grace of history.
Skyscrapers are no longer unique to the United States, but their history and impact on American Culture once gave us the belief that we held a special place in the world as we reached higher and higher into the vast canvas of the open sky. 9/11 has changed this perception greatly, but the spirit of building taller did not die, it just crossed into other countries. This project was a side project, a 2000' tower on Park Avenue, which would house +2 Million sqft of Office, residential, and hotel space. It was more of a study on how a skyscraper can evoke the power towers once commanded on the American psyche, when they were part of an era of urban romanticism and not of corporate banality.
