A memorial to a master.
Less Is More... Mies Van Der Rohe coined the term as a way to express his philosophy on modernism. Whether you like his work or not, his influence is still felt today and this project commemorates the architect's achievements. The Archive annexes itself to one of his former projects in Europe which would house an exhibit on Mies and a Scholar's Archive on the architect. Its jagged sharp steel roof derived itself from the proportions of the house it connects to, uniting itself not in an aesthetic way to the home, but in the way the house's proportions and geometric rationale.
